Musical Theatre Voice: Classes 2900-2999
- For these classes, songs must have been originally composed for, and sung by a character or characters in a musical theatre stage production or a movie musical.
- Songs that were not originally composed for, but used in a stage or screen musical, are not eligible. For example, the songs in the musical "Mamma Mia!" were written and performed for mass distribution prior to the stage musical being developed. These types of songs can be sung in the Popular Voice classes.
- Songs in this category must be age appropriate.
- The entry must include the name of the song and the name of the musical production from which it originates.
- Costumes and minimal props are optional, but are not adjudicated.
NOTE: For competitors reccomended to the OMFA Provincial competition, the number of songs to be sung in Music Theatre may vary by Class based on the competitors age. Please visit OMFA.ca for details and approved songs.
